Kathmandu: The price of petroleum products has been decreased across Nepal following a reduction in purchase rates by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). In response, the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented new pricing, effective from midnight on Friday.

The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs5 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have been reduced by Rs3 per liter. In Kathmandu Valley, the new price for petrol is now Rs165 per liter, and diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs155 per liter.

In other regions, the prices vary slightly. For instance, in Surkhet and Dang, petrol will cost Rs164 per liter, with diesel and kerosene at Rs154 per liter. Meanwhile, in areas like Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, and other cities, petrol will be priced at Rs162.5 per liter, and diesel will cost Rs152.5 per liter.

This adjustment follows Nepal's automatic fuel price mechanism, where the NOC sets prices based on the tariffs received from the IOC. The prices of LP gas and aviation fuel, however, remain unchanged.
